To learn how to improve every aspect of your life with some simple handywork, read these incredible DIY hacks you'll wish you knew sooner. If you have an unsightly deodorant mark on your clothes, don't rub your garment with a standard cloth and risk pilling.
Instead, use a pair of pantyhose to gently rub the deodorant mark and watch it disappear with ease. Did you peel a label off a jar only to find paper and residue left behind?
Using a cotton pad and some cooking oil, rub the residue and let it sit for a few minutes. Once the oil has sunk in, it'll wipe away easily.
If you accidentally got permanent marker on a piece of furniture , don't lose hope just yet. Using a small dab of non-gel toothpaste, rub the marker stain in a circular motion with a soft cloth and it should buff right out.
If your kids have gotten creative with their crayons and your walls, there's an easy fix. Simply heat the offending portion of the wall with a hair dryer for a few seconds to soften the crayon's wax and wipe the writing away with a soft cloth.
Looking forward to enjoying that bottle of Malbec, but don't have a corkscrew handy? If the wine's room temperature, you can ease that cork out by heating the neck of the bottle with a hair dryer.
Just make sure you're not doing this with sparkling wine or wine that's been refrigerated or you could break the bottle or cause the cork to forcefully eject.
If you've got a little vodka at the bottom of that bottle, but not quite enough for a cocktail, put it to good use. Combine one part vodka to three parts water, add a few drops of essential oil, and you've got a fabric refresher spray without the chemical smells.
If your toilet bowl could use a cleaning but you're out of traditional cleaner, use mouthwash instead. Pour a capful of the stuff into your toilet bowl and let it sit for half an hour.
When you're ready to give the bowl a scrub, any grime will come off easily. Rushing out of the house only to discover you've dropped your earring back?
Apr 27, Victoria Sturlini rated it it was amazing. Loved this feel good story! It was funny, romantic, sexy and unusual!
Highly recommend it for a nice endearing story that makes you smile with contentment when you are finished reading it.
Oct 14, Elle Markov rated it really liked it. You have a super free spirit and the most super anal straight and narrow cop ever.
Ginas antics are hilarious and Rick really does grow on you once he stops being so Mr. Straight and Narrow and does the crazier I love you gesture.
These two were perfect together. Rating 4 out of 5 Read Book Jul 18, Becky rated it really liked it Shelves: arc , contemporary.
Funny, fun, and sweet! So, so many highlighted passages gotta love ebooks! I had an absolute ball reading Gina and Rick's story.
Their banter was just too funny, and some of the situations Gina got herself and often by extension, Rick into were laugh-out-loud.
I may even have snort-laughed once or twice. Or possibly three times. But I digress Gina and Rick have the best kind of opposites attract story here--she's a rule-bender with a long-standing dislike of cops, especially by-the-books Funny, fun, and sweet!
Gina and Rick have the best kind of opposites attract story here--she's a rule-bender with a long-standing dislike of cops, especially by-the-books ones; and he's the cop who was the stick-to-the-letter-of-the-law hall monitor in fifth grade and who hasn't changed much in the interim.
Well, except for all the muscles. And the total hotness. And the actual growing up. But other than that, he's pretty much the same guy.
What the hell? She and her body needed to have a serious talk about who it was allowed to be attracted to. An anal-retentive cop was not supposed to be on the menu.
Resistance, of course, is futile. And soon both Gina and Rick find themselves doing things they never thought they would--like when Rick takes Gina home to meet his family and all FOUR sisters!
Don't knock it. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'd rather be sitting around watching a game of a movie than a stationary truck that no one has looked twice at the whole time we've been watching.
But, you know, your thing is fun, too. So much craziness and love. Dare we hope that Rick's two unmarried sisters might have their own books in there somewhere?
Or at least Jenny? Really, it's the characters and their interactions that make this story what it is--a highly entertaining way to spend a few hours.
I'd honestly love to spend time with any or all of them in person--if they actually existed. Well, not Alejandro of the rat cartel so much.
But everyone else Gina and Rick were adorable together, and so much fun to root for. Though the event that triggers their ultimate reconciliation is a bit clunky, the actual we-need-to-get-back-together scene was fantastic and the epilogue triggers all kinds of feels.
Though it's the second in the series, it worked just fine as a standalone. Book one in the series has already been added to my TBR, and I will definitely be doing the same for the rest of her backlist!
Jun 17, Elizabeth Neal rated it it was amazing. Gina is determined to find out who keeps breaking into her cupcake truck, Street Treats, that she owns with her best friend, Nat.
Bogetti approved as her older neighbor keeps loudly verbalizing her displeasure with Gina's spying and using her fire escape as her "hideout.
Bogetti, without proof, because nothing has been stolen and only a mess is being left behind, the Gina is determined to find out who keeps breaking into her cupcake truck, Street Treats, that she owns with her best friend, Nat.
Bogetti, without proof, because nothing has been stolen and only a mess is being left behind, the police won't do anything. Unfortunately, Mrs. Bogetti disagrees and decides to call the cops, thereby helping Gina and getting her off the fire escape.
Officer Rick Boyd is used to Mrs. B calling the cops for everything, yet he can't help but be amused, and attracted to, the reason for the most recent call.
As Rick and his partner, Joe, escort Gina home, at Rick's insistence, the "discussion" regarding Gina's surveillance continues and she quite possibly might have spied with her little eye something in the police car that could definitely help her "investigation.
What ensues is a lively debate on Gina's actions and an encounter that only strengthens their already intense attraction to each other.
Rick offers to help Gina with her spying as she tries to catch the culprit, who she believes is her ex-boyfriend, Tony. As they spend more time together, they realize they're enjoying each other's company and the growing connection between them only fuels their desire for one another.
But as he learns more about her, he also discovers the emotionally painful reason for her avoidance of all things law enforcement and she starts to understand why he tends to be so disciplined when it comes to follow the rules.
Are Rick and Gina's completely opposite outlooks on life too great to overcome? Is their relationship doomed to fail before it truly begins?
Or can these two see that their differences not only make life interesting, but also make them perfect for each other? Can Rick prove that he's not just a cop, but also the man for her?
Can Gina show Rick that life is meant to be enjoyed to the fullest and that you don't always have to follow the rules?
Will they catch the person responsible for vandalizing her cupcake truck? Will they get their HEA? One-click now to follow along as by-the-book Rick and I-believe-in-gray-areas Gina find their way to a future filled with laughter, happiness, and a love that burns brighter than the sun.
Please keep in mind this is the second book of the series and I highly recommend reading them in order as previous characters are mentioned in this story.
I looked down at my still flat stomach and asked, am I pregnant? Why now , I asked, for I had been waiting for her to come for years and had given up.
I will never forget her response, b ecause you are ready for joy in your life. To this day, the memory of that moment grabs me in the gut.
